Brock's First Hair On Top

Image
Brock's always had a little fuzz on top and a lot of hair on the back and sides, but that's about it. Well two days ago Holly and I noticed this multi-inch super hair sprouting right on out of the dome.  This little mystery has us as confused as Brock. Did he have the super-hair always, and we just missed it until monday? Can Brock grow particular strands of hair super-long overnight?  Well, Brock probably wasn't confused about his hair at all. Probably just warming up to the camera. Getting warmer.... There's the Brock!!!

Video Bomb!

Image
Here's an old video that just made it's way to the tubes. Brock at just 20 days "trying to crawl." This was perhaps his third or fourth attempt that would always end up in him upset, but then excited to try again later. Nowadays he's strong enough to lift the front end, but too fat to get his butt off the ground. (This onesie doesn't' even fit anymore!) Eventually Brock, eventually.  It was only in the past few days that Brock actually started smiling socially at us. We'd seen smiles in his sleep, or by random accident but we'd never had him smile in direct response to a smile. It is pretty darn amazing and unbelievably cute. Naturally, we want to show some fun face-making smile-time adventures to everyone, but for now the camera is a mysterious intruder that throws off Brock's mojo. Still cute for sure, but he's not yet nearly the ham that his parents are. I guess we need to be taking more videos....

The Thomases head southwest and Brock plumps up

Goodbye mom and dad!  We loved having you and can't wait till next year when you get to play longer! Brock wore this gown when he came home from the hospital... now he is straining at the pears. Brock is already 12lb10oz up from a mere 6lb5oz at birth. Doubled up! Man loves to eat.  old man hair in action.  Brock is getting more and more attentive in his activity gym and spending long time sans fussing-out.  He also seems to be tolerating hats now.  Here is is looking like Fats Chicago (aka Brocksy Malone) Brock is making head-way (get it?) with neck control and strength... Here he is in adorable action...

Thomas/Cerney Pig Roast!

Image
What better way to get both families together than a rollicking pig roast!  We had the opportunity to get to know the Lehman Lakeside RV resort in Marengo where Sharon and Larry will make their new summer home at.  Such a neat place, I am sure Brock will love it even more when he can frolic more. Aunt Saralu and Barb joined us with Uncle Gene and Jerry.   Pig Roast!  Brock hearts bacon already. beware the biting flies of the night                                       and a good time was had by all... naps are a thing of beauty.

Baby exercises...

Brock is getting pretty strong for a little guy!  At one month he has got a pretty strong neck that he is lifting more frequently on his own.  He is also dragging himself a few inches and flopping with increased grace. Here he is with some beginner's tummy time... look at that handsome critter! Tummy time is exhausting.

First Bath

Brock had his first bath at about 2 weeks old (yes, just now catching up on blogging!) It didn't go over so well... but he fully recovered. (chicken towel if you are wondering)
