That's all.  Just a cute guy coming out of a plush stage.  Happy Thursday.

Playing Around

Image
As Brock gets more and more coordinated, playing with him becomes ever more fun. Brock's been a huge peekaboo fan for a while, but he's always had to wait for mommy or daddy to disappear. Now Brock is getting into the disappearing act himself. What fun! Knocking over block towers is probably still Brock's favorite past time, but he's also a big fan of closing the animal flaps on his toy of many switches. Someday he'll figure out how to open them, but for now he'll just make sure you can't keep em open for long (unless he gets distracted by a camera).  It wouldn't be a baby blog post without some narcissistic allusion to how Brock is the smartest baby ever (which he obviously is) so i'll just file this last video in the evidence and move on:

Not even 24 hrs ago!!

We were overjoyed to get face time with grandma and grandpa Cerney this weekend.  Brockling offered a fine smile and snoogle break from challenging times.  Pre- Holly's show pic taken by the lovely Trish after Brock twinkled to nighty night. Quality Grandma time is at hand! Here are two of the least-tan people in Chicago on the same swing.  happy mother's day to me!!  The luckiest lady in the land!   Yay moms!! this plane was very dangerous.  Brock proved an unskilled co-pilot on first flight and sported a face fumble following the ever-popular parental verbal exchange, "I gottum?"  "You gottum?"  "whoops."  weeeeeee!!! Cerneys! Cerney boys! Cerney Grands! Love to you from us!  We miss you already and are wishing you as much peace in your hearts and minds as possible.  See you soon!!

The Puppet Show

Image
We have a tiny, forest animal, finger-puppet theater with which we have frequently attempted to amuse Brock. He finds it kind of interesting, but he mostly just pulls them off your fingers and gets bored. Yesterday I decided to pull out the big-kid puppets, and what a change it was. Instead of some boring stuffed animal on finger, here was a real live kitty cat ready to play. Brock was overjoyed. So overjoyed, in fact, that he lost his balance laughing and tumbled backwards. You can see the video end abruptly as I drop everything to catch him. We avoided the big bonk, but it was still scary enough for some tears. Of course, nothing more kitty couldn't fix.
