Mexico to the 3rd Power

Image
So, I had never been to Mexico before 2014. Somehow I've now gone 3 times in a single year. Same for Brock. Anyhow, if you tire of our Mexico posts, I understand... that said... let's go to Mexico! Again! This time to Playa de Carmen!  Upon arrival at Paradisus la Esmeralda Brock apparently found his soul (that was an obscure Pulp Fiction reference if you missed it).  Here Emma and Brandon enjoy the glow in the hotel lobby as we check in. OMG, check in was a bit of a travesty, but maybe Matt can better tell that tale. Brock got a side job as a bellboy. I actually wish we would have had him carry all our bags up (again, maybe Matt will give you the gory details, I'll remain mute as, although legitimate, they are totally first-world-all-inclusive-resort-people-problems). Brock quite enjoyed his first day on the beach. The following two days at the beach were met with pronounced disdain. Matt theorized that his reusable swim diaper was too tight o

Pushing the Stroller

Brock is a very enthusiastic walker. We can typically count on him to walk all the way to the park or all the way to the store. You cannot, however, count on him to walk home. This means the three of us usually set out walking with an empty stroller, ready for whenever his tiny legs give out. After a few trips like this, Brock decided he wasn't going to let daddy have all the fun. We strolled on like this for some time. Eventually Brock tired out and kneeled down to catch his breath, but he wouldn't give up. We let him ride home, of course.

Watermelon Update

We forgot to include a video in Brock's recent watermelon post. Enjoy Brock enjoying "BIG melon!"

mini-Brock

Brock's conversation skills are getting quite keen. He is also likes to share and feed things and people. Murray has had his face in yogurt, sippy cups and most recently sushi. I recently framed a few pics from our photo session in the fall and one of Brock in a chair. Here Brock feeds mini-Brock cookies. This video sadly misses that highly entertaining moment, but at least I captured a small segment of his progressed verbal exchanges.

Living room romps

Uh. It is snowing again. March and April I consider the most bla of all the months. I guess we'll always have our lively living room. Brock Rody'ing to the rhythm. It has been difficult to capture the true magic of Brock and his accelerated communication. He regularly uses two word phrases and is saying yes when he wants something and just getting his thoughts across with growing clarity. This fort video doesn't really do him justice, but it seems to be all I have! We'll keep trying, in the meantime...

BIG melon

No real illusions here, Brock is eating a large melon.  He is fairly obsessed with "big" food items. This melon is not practical, but it is so BIG!

Poland part II

Ah... Krackow. A fine fine city that I am always happy to revisit. First day out we take a stroll down the main drag.   Garvey in front, posing reflectively against the back drop of Krakow's first and oldest theatre.   John and Beata about town.   The original Cricoteka. Tadeusz Kantor (1915-1990) was an avant-garde artist, theatre director, set designer and a major figure in 20th theatre reform, known for his revolutionary theatre productions with a primary focus on Witkiewicz, the playwright of my show. In 1980 he created 'Cricoteka' as a 'living archive' to document the achievements of himself and his theatre company. In September 2014 Cricoteka unveiled its new headquarters, with the aim of better presenting his work and its impact on modern art and theatre. We'll get there later in the post. Here Beata poses with some relevant graffiti. This is the main tower in Krakow's Market Square. Every hour on the hour, four times in succe
