A Tour of Our Home

Image
My goodness. What a year.  video link:  https://youtu.be/bkksIi3lw4A Here's a video of a tour from 12/7/19 of the building as we bought it. It was a charming 3-flat apartment.  video link:  https://youtu.be/wbUk_EuxUUs nd here's today's much longer tour of the finished product. There's still a few finishing touches to add, but we couldn't be happier to be cozying in for Christmas, and we can't wait to have you all visit in person. Well, now that that's out of the way, hopefully 2021 will be filled with more posts of regular life with our marvelous kids doing regular stuff in their new home. Sorry for the year of post droughts. Merry Christmas to all!

The house? and Duck.

sa Todd our awesome architect is I think giving us the thumb's up.  Ha. This is great to look at now that I am using the kitchen!  If it wasn't for pretzels we would not make it through an OAC meeting. And also, we like to eat this duck recipe that Matt makes. I requires juniper berries and there is an amazing stash right down the street by the hospital (where I spent the scariest night of my life...but another time) so we are city foraging. What a haul. The dark blue ones are best, and mature in winter, after 3 years!! But we still found some good ones. delicious. And what does this have to do with 3 random house pictures from an OAC meeting in August? Nothing. Nothing at all. But I am behind on the this blog and losing my mind so enjoy the juniper berries and try not to be to judgy.

And then we lived in an apartment for awhile

The lovely and cozy apartment on Damen street. Cozy indeed... ok. This is actually just a post about the kids making a fort that took up all of our apartment. Fort parts courtesy of GOmahas and the GoodKnights. I should update this post with the fort that we build in the new house! Maybe next December...

Brock Rocks 7 and bye bye Bus House!

The elder child is a monsterous 7!! It's a plague year, so we nixed the big party and did an even more un-socially responsible option, spend time with our favorite high-risk people, Grandma and Grandpa Donut!! Oh my goodness. But it was also the last hurrah in the amazing bus house, a place of such grand memories for us and Brock that we took the small risk and went to celebrate happy times and give our love. Here is the man of the day dressed to the nines in his homemade volcano party hat- our theme for this year- volatile destruction. k. The kids are wearing different clothes so this can't be the same day, but it seems festive, right? I'm keeping it. Brock with besty Theodor at Wicker Park, blowing their heads off!  The whole crew, us and Theodor's people Jenny and David... And yes, that is the volcano cake I made that you can't see very well, but those are gummy dinos running from the apocalypse.  Alice is so commenty ... but not sure what she is saying here...
