Drag Wedding

Image
Yes! We went to our fabulous friend's wedding, Ricky, who first married Matt and I. As the officiant of course! He has been with Joe for many years and with COVID in check, they could finally celebrate their union. They encouraged rainbows and drag for attire. Matt went all out, I tried to be more androgynous, but couldn't pass up an opportunity to wear a mustache! Getting ready at home. Such an elegant couple. It really looks like Matt has a devil unicorn whispering in his ear. Not planned. We seem to be at different events. The description of my mustache was "ambassador", Matt's didn't come with one, but I think his would be "gassy". Super fun night. My stach lasted for 1/2 of it. How does one live like that and drink beer? Matt is so very skilled. To walk in one's shoes, I think Matt learned how you need good dance panties for a dress that short. Tee hee!!!

Final days of Summer in the City

Image
Just a couple of shots that show our sweet home Chicago and the recently past weeks of the Cerney chitlins'.  Baseball with Brock! running to 1st after a great hit. Coach daddy out there in the field and blocking Brock crossing home. Running home, I think the before from the shot above. First day of school. Brock in 4th and Alice starting Pre-K at the same school! Alice in her "science dress" - I made it! So cute. It's gonna be a good day. And it was! And it was a warm day. We went to Wicker park after (a usual event) and Alice proceeded to get close and personal with the bear fountain (there were only a few days left that it would be able to turn on, they shut off after Labor Day). VERY personal. The clothes are off. Too much fun to be had. VERY, VERY, personal. My pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. And Matt and I painted the porch! I also took these pics of the house for Alice's first day at school. The teacher was to put pics of their house and loved ones

Iowa and Super Grandma Birthday

Image
It is always sad when I start a post with, "I failed". But I do so often at photos. Anyhow, we did have a wonderful road trip to Iowa for a family reunion hosted by the wonderful Aunt Kathy and Uncle Rick to also celebrate Super Grandma's birthday. 88 I think? whew. Awesome. Kathy lent us her RV so we had swank stays. There was also their fabulous pool party complete with pulled pork, cake, family, fun and I think more than 100 frog ornaments about the grounds (the kids were invited to count them all). The nights brought bonfires and dogs at the RV park were many of us gathered for after and before parties. So, all this to get to the share that this RV park was quite adorable and had fun stuff for pictures. Which were the only ones I took like a goof. The ladies convened for a stroll and the following documentation ensued... As the boys were disc golfing, we were being disc golfing. And then a little shopping. Sure, "No climbing", but there was no sign saying

Walk-a-thon (and raspberries)

Image
Hello all! This is not a super exciting post, but I wanted to test to see if the new subscription is working. Alice and Brock to do a silly little Walk-a-Thon to raise money for their school each year. I got Brock's time wrong, but here is Alice and her class doing laps around the playground: Alice is leading with her awesome teacher Ms. Russell. This is the first lap... Second lap and going strong! Thank you all! And we picked raspberries! Unrelated to Walk-A-Thon. But again, more for a 2 for 1 on this blog post to give a little more somethin/somethin. YUM. A fine tart was made: we also stopped at the Mars Cheese Castle (one of our all time favorite places in WIS) and got matching cat/cheese/moon t-shirts. Not pictured. I'll save that picture for when I have another semi-interesting blog post that needs some more somethin/somethin. K. xoxoxo
