The Insectasylum! And other bug adventures.

 The children and I had a lovely trip to the Insectasylum! A small, quirky neighborhood salute to the weird and wonderful with a focus on etymology. We also thought it would be good inspiration for our Halloween family costume theme of... bugs. It was also in route to the Village Discount to find costume items. Leaf bug. Blue jumping beetle I think? But it didn't jump, or looked like it had intentions of such, so I think I am simply wrong. They also had a pretty amazing collection of taxidermy. Here is Alice with the JerseyRaff (apparently what she calls a giraffe that wears a jersey? Not from Jersey, she was clear. Brock loves taking pictures. Here he focused on the scorpion, which is his Halloween choice. There was much back and forth if they have 10 appendages or 8, the interwebs show both. This clearly shows 10 if one includes the pincers. We failed. I stopped at 8. And we took a picture of the dung beetle for Matt! And shows their pinning process. And then, the grand event, Ha
