Hoppy Easter & These Boots were made for Brockin'

Image
Thank you for the Easter basket Granpeople Thomas!  Everything was a big hit in the basket except the animal crackers that Brock doesn't get to eat yet, maybe he'll save them for cousin Madeline, I know she will take them!  The fart machine was going to be amazing - I set it up for matt to discover while we were watching GOT, but Murphy's law took my jest to court!  The DVD remote was dead as we started the player, Matt asked where all the triple A batteries were.  I was quite coy and realized I was not going to be able to pull off the gag the way I intended and so I set the fart machine off (which used all the a3's in the house) to signify where all the a3's went.  He was so much less amused then I was.  Do I sound crazy right now?  I just read this back and it makes no sense.  Had to be there.  And be me.  Anyways, let's get back to the point, THIS BABY CAN WEAR A PAIR OF EARS LIKE A CHAMP!! Brock doesn't quite get the suck action of the sippy cu

Bring the Pain!

Image
Brock has gotten so much more mobile and agile these past few weeks. His new found mobility has also led to a few more bumps and bruises than he's used to. Of course, he's a big baby when it comes to pain initially, but I have been very impressed with his resiliency and willingness to get back at play as soon as possible.  This video was just supposed to be a shot of him going nuts with one of his electronic books. He really just likes to mash buttons and flip pages as fast as possible. Whatever will make a constant incoherent noise is just alright by him. But right when I pulled out the camera, I accidentally got baby-pain gold. Enjoy Brock trying to figure out just exactly how hurt he is.

Here's more of Brock scooting around and sitting up.

Blocks n' Brock

Brock's blocks can be used as a pretty fun catapult. Like most things, Brock finds it hilarious Of course, now that he's getting more mobile he can't let daddy have all the fun.

More Brock Videos

If there's one thing i've been learning from Brock over the past few months it is this: everything is funny. We'd been at this a solid 5 minutes before i grabbed the camera. Still funny. We got some ZhuZhu Pets for our wedding years ago, and they have turned into an endless source of amusement for Brock. Watch them run amok! And be sure to see Brock fight back with his not-so-secret weapon Brock has fallen in love with our giant blue exercise ball. When he was a smaller tyke, it was essential for bouncing him asleep. Now it's just the coolest toy in the room. Brock likes to roll the ball back and forth even if he's not exactly sure what's going on. The camera definitely threw him off his game when it came out, but there's still a few quality rolls to be seen. We keep thinking he can't get any happier or cuter, but Brock proves us wrong every day.

April Showers make Brock powers

It has been a busy time at the Casa de Cerney; Brock does not stop his amazing journey between posts!  wow.  So much has happened in a short 8 months!  He is now at 23 lbs, and has officially moved out of his basket car seat (he is much happier in his new one, maybe because of his maturation or because he has way  more room).  He eats about 14 ounces of solid food a day and has everything from pineapple to pot roast.  He sleeps 12+ hours, from 6:30-7pm to 7am.  He also is good about chilling out in his crib till 7:30 when Matt get's up (I'm up too, but you know, still in the blanket burrito).  Nap time is getting re-arranged, but we think he going to end up with two a day, one at 10:30ish and one at 2:30ish.  He is so close to crawling!  Brock's moves are seal-esque, he rolls, scoots and drags himself forward and back.  He sits well, but can't sit up by himself and enjoys the new freedom of sitting up in a shopping cart and playing ball-roll.  He has amazing leg str
