Mexi-turky!

What an amazing Thanksgiving, I mean, HELLO, cozumel with dear family, scuba, zip-lining, swimming in caves, swimming with dolphins and manatees, just a general LOVE FEST!

...and here we are!  The Cozumel Palace!  This is the view from the balcony.  We all had a similar view, as Uncle Don hooked us up with the most wonderful rooms with a giant tub and the sunset over the ocean, a most spectacular way for mother nature to say "goodnight" at the end of each day.

From this pic you can see the gazebo of the THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE!  Bob and Frieda got the ultimate hook-up, which served as a playtime sanctuary throughout the trip.  The ceremony was held on their balcony (the very one we are looking at) and the after-party upstairs.

It seems that young Max has a bit of an interest in Pirates!  Here the lad is introduced to Cap'n Margaritaville.

We were told that Machete was the place to go for some local grub, although the all inclusive grub was pretty tasty, it was nice to move onto the strip for day.

This looks like a Larry move... Whaaaaa!!

Madeline seems to have found something yummy.

Salud!  To a lovely day!

Who wouldn't have a smile in them after meeting a real pirate!

Brock discovered many delights on the trip.  He now eats tortilla chips without a helpful break-off, has a new-found love of watermelon and apparently, while on grandma and grandpa's watch, was eating pico de gallo by the fistfuls.

The day of the ceremony was a bit cloudy and windy, but still a perfect 70 degree day.  We were instructed to wear "blingy" ties and veils.  Inspired by the all-inclusive theme, we made suitable apparatus with the required bling.  My champagne sippy tiara did not last past the pictures... or even through them.  Oh well.

Love is in the air!  So contagious.

Brock is enamored of his lovely cousin Madeline.  Some subtle evidence shown above.

He has kind of a Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall expression, don't you think so?... although the sandals, overalls and the friendly legless ghoul is throwing me off some.

The youngest and the oldest Cerney!  Together with a donkey named Tequila.  I love this family!

The boys!

A kiss to 60 wonderful years.

The brown-eyed demons!

We made a wonderful trip to Chankanaab National Park where dolphin swimming ensued.  Before our scheduled swim we strolled the grounds that were situated around a few Mayan remains, with a some others brought in.  They had also constructed a life size replica of a village.  There was a woman making tortillas, she had a side of sauce that we were warned was picante.  Delighted by the opportunity to get a bit of spice, we dug in.  It seems "picante" meant "kiss of a lava rock from Hades" in Espanol, I thought it just meant "hot".

This is the dolphin holding area.  Pictures could be taken from a far, but inside you had to pay for the professionals to take them.  This was a common practice throughout the trip.

Up close and personal with a young dolphin named... darn it, I can't remember.  Melinda, Mark, do you remember?  I think it started with a "J".

You might be wondering where my baby is right now.  Baby, schmaby, I got me some dolphin kisses!  JK, I love that little guy, he is hanging out with Aunty M (omg, just like in the Wizard of OZ, awesome) while "J" and I get to know each other a little better.

Madeline was a bit leary of the dolphin, but still a good sport.

Here's that baby!  As you can see, one of us is getting more out the experience than the other.  I'm sure it was all a bit much, he was not crazy about his constricting life-vest and nap time did not happen; at least we have the pictures to show him what a good time he had.

A friendship like this SEAS no boundaries.

To kiss dolphin, hold hands under chin.

To patty cake with dolphin, hold hands out as if you were going to play patty cake with a dolphin.  It really works!

To have dolphin come up to hand, hold out hand for dolphin to come up to.  Complicated, but it really works!

Max really seemed the most taken with the introduction, so cute!

Where Max giggles in "J''s salty smooch, Brock seems to be holding his lips shut.

What what?  Is that a smiiiile?  Gas maybe?  Is the dolphin just a tinsey winsey bit neato?  HA HA!!  Indeed.

If you hold your hand out underwater the dolphin will swim up to it.

This picture might be mistaken for an instructional image from a life-guard textbook.  Brock will NOT be the next face of the new Chankanaab-swim-with-the-dolphins promotional brochure.

We scheduled our dolphin time for 3:30... this was awesome happenstance!  All of the cruise boats had left and it was just us, the trainer and the dolphin.  We all got an insane amount of sea mammal time.  So fabulous!

Brock might truly be asleep here.  If only those Mexican crackers were waterproof, then he would have LOVED the dolphins.

Some final shots on the way out in a halo of porpoises.

Thank you Cozumel for a sensational week!  Thank you grandma and grandpa C for your awesome skills to allow some much needed adventure time to happen!  Thank you Melinda for the pictures and taking the pictures and making them look so pretty!  Thank you Bob and Frieda for such a shining example of the power of love!  Thank you Matt and Brock for making me truly believe 60 years together is a good thing! So much thanks, I guess it must have been an effective Thanksgiving.
