Thomas Family Reunion & Marengo Weekend

Image
We had a fun weekend up with mom and dad in the fine town of Marengo. We started with Brock opening an early birthday gifty from grandma and grandpa (now known as Grandpa Donut for reasons that can be easily ascertained)... a farm to remind Brock of where Grandma T's agricultural roots.  The first thing Brock said when we went into the trailer was "Grandma and Grandpa live in bus!". He was in Heaven.   Welcome to the 110th Thomas family reunion!!  They had a pool which was great fun.  Brock took to the golf cart... especially when he learned that pants were optional. Mom and dad have a great swimming hole. I lost my bottoms, a casualty of the Thomas family reunion (they are a WILD bunch) so I stayed warm in my leggings.   There were these phantom fish that nipped ya. Nothing like the Missouri Nipple Fish, but a bit unsettling for sure.  He was begging for the creamy cake most of the previous day and final

Brock has become quite the Romeo. At last ladies lunch, Brock was no longer the prey, but the predator. Kisses for all the gals, little Maeve and Ruby, and goodbye smooches for all the big girls too.   The captured picture above shows Brock at his most tame, but the brazen lad went for the lips every other time.

you are invited to a potty party

Well, someone has become very enamored of the potty. Brock has been having potty parties,  committed sessions up to 40 minutes long that entail several moments of re-adjusting, standing up, giggling and excitement, but very few of the much anticipated plops or plunks. He has successfully gone pee once. There was much rejoicing. And a jelly bean.    Big or small, they each have their own appeal.  This is no time to be shy readers of the blog! A man has claimed his throne and must be acknowledged.  There was nothing to wipe of course, but it was the cherry on the top for him so the regal white flag in his left hand is not one of surrender, but of triumph.  This picture made me realize that I'm not ready to give up the diaper yet. That and reading Melinda's post and realizing that wiping with TP will not be the same as a wet wipe and that Brock's second (or third, or fourth) wardrobes will have to be reinstated back in my purse. Sigh.

Hugs and Kisses.

Brock's goodbyes to Matt are amazing and sweet. He also is learning the days of the week and knows that Friday is a good one.

Just a some little reminders that Brock still is Brocking around.  Brock's drive in. Corn and a shake. This is just a crazy narwhal cake I felt like I had to include. and in conclusion... the constant gardener.
