Thomas Family Reunion & Marengo Weekend
We had a fun weekend up with mom and dad in the fine town of Marengo. We started with Brock opening an early birthday gifty from grandma and grandpa (now known as Grandpa Donut for reasons that can be easily ascertained)... a farm to remind Brock of where Grandma T's agricultural roots.
The first thing Brock said when we went into the trailer was "Grandma and Grandpa live in bus!". He was in Heaven.
Welcome to the 110th Thomas family reunion!!
They had a pool which was great fun.
Brock took to the golf cart... especially when he learned that pants were optional.
Mom and dad have a great swimming hole. I lost my bottoms, a casualty of the Thomas family reunion (they are a WILD bunch) so I stayed warm in my leggings.
There were these phantom fish that nipped ya. Nothing like the Missouri Nipple Fish, but a bit unsettling for sure.
He was begging for the creamy cake most of the previous day and finally the moment had come. We gave him a lesson in birthday traditions, a warm-up for his upcoming Sunday party.
This guy really puts the "happy" into happy birthday, doesn't he? Oh Brock. I promise he loved the experience. Somewhere in his black, black, soul.
Mom and dad took us to Donely's Wild West Town that was much goofy fun.
First carousal ride! That limp t-rex hand is a wave. He asked to go about 5 more times. He also rode a roller coaster!!! Mom has the pics, I'll have to update this post.
Brock's first roller coaster! Why they let him ride this and not the kiddie canoe is beyond me. He was not a super fan of it, but was not a grump either.
Mom giving a sturdy How.
Brock also loved the tiny train that went round the town and asked to ride multiple times.
No western town is complete without the broken dreams of gold-panning. Luckily, splashing is rarely disappointing.
Well, I've managed to get to the end of the post and have no pictures to represent the title of Thomas Family Reunion. Psych! Ha ha! I've updated with mom's photos!! We went! It was fun! Here were the pictures to prove it!
I think this land mark sums it up nicely.
