Disc-Camping!
A few weekends ago we embarked on our annual disc golf camping trip in Michigan. First stop was Holland Michigan, known for its early Dutch settlers. Here they have a very fine brewery called New Holland and THE DUTCH VILLIAGE!! Matt and I have visited this strange and wonderful place in the past and were excited to take Brock to it.
Picture I feel is self-explanatory.
A ferris wheel windmill! Here Brock is ogling his first ride while we wait in line.
All aboard! Brock has expressed no trepidation or fear so here we go!
Brock experiences his tummy drop! And giggles upon each pass.
This is my favorite petting zoo I've been to! You got to pick out a bunny to hold and carry it around in a basket!! Brock chose the albino, all the way, full committed. I loved the tiny angora, but nope, albino all the way.
Brock was very gentle and quite enjoyed his bunny friend.
Then we got to hold the duckling! I had flashes of my wonderful youth and the brooders full of little peeps in the garage!
Not only could you pet the goat, you could dress it up! Here we've successfully coaxed our hoofed mammal belle into this sassy number.
Can't tell if Brock's gesture is commentary or a non-related nose pick.
Duck pump.
Brock was also able to ride the swing ride on a lap. He needed a little psyching up for the event but enjoyed himself. The carnie sprayed us when we went by which was quite surprising but rather refreshing and was good for conversation with Brock later.
A car nap later, we arrive at the main event, camping! We set up the tent and then pile back into the car to hit Mason county disc golf, one of our favorites.
You can't tell, but before this elated moment, there have been considerable tears over something. We put Brock down because he said he was done. We were sad, little guy hadn't made it yet to the much anticipated smores. Luckily, he had a calm down in the tent and was ready for a second try.
It rained heavily in the very early morning and into late morning. We had a bit of a drip in our tent that did not make sleeping in or hanging out overly appealing. Luckily we camped next to the playground that had a covered picnic area where we opted to make breakfast. We packed up in a gently rain and decided to press on to the next disc-ination, Flip City.
The weather let up soon after camp clean up and it turned into a lovely day! Brock over-proclaimed that we were clear.
You might recognize the rock stacks from Flip, this year Brock was all over it.
Brock walked a considerable portion of both highly hilly courses. This was good as pushing the stroller up and down is quite the booty strain.
They added this awesome new basket this year that Brock confirmed was a good edition. We had a great time and when I asked Brock what he wanted to do for his birthday, he said, camping! I asked him his favorite part and he said the tent. So we'll have to see what we can russell up for the big 0-3!
