bday #3
He's 3! The little man just got the legit stamp to qualify age! The birthday. Starting last year we began with the tradition of the double celebration, one at the bus house with G&G donut.
Grandma supplied the adorable cake homage to Peppa, a delight for the birthday star.
Typical birthday reel.
K. This is a bit long, giving the Octonauts their due suspense. Thank you G&G donut!
Brock has been asking Matt about corn. The RV park banks a veritable kernel jungle. A perfect opportunity for post-cake exploration.
The night was finalized with hot dogs cooked on the stick, smoores and Brock's first sparkler.
And on to the real AUGUST 02! We loved loved Mark and Melinda's birthday surprise they gave to Madeline - waking up to a room full of balloons.... we had to give the little guy the experience!
We woke up early to turn on the monitor so we wouldn't miss the verbal wonder. Our sweet alarm was this, "balloons! there's something in here! hello balloons!".
I can't pass up an opportunity to make a fun cake. Going with the balloon theme, Murray takes a sweet ride. Uh, we had left over Peppa cake , cup cakes from the Thomas family reunion, and peach/cherry crumble. Can I mail you a piece?
I think he likes it!
Then some gifts. Pallina from J&J& Nate is a hit. Thank you!
A round is had.
Tube locks also a super hit. This is a "dadddy daddy daddy" style of horn. Thank you Mx4! Still warming him up to Go Fish, another grand gift from the M's. We'll have to try the card holder thing maybe.
Matt and I got him a doc kit. He's a fan. But can't seem to grasp that the patient wears the arm band for the blood pressure monitor. We also got him a stand up scooter that was not as successful. He says he likes his little boy scooter better. I am optimistic.
Not pictured is the aquarium night light from G&G Omaha. Holy moly he loves it. An instant necessity now. And that guinea pig shirt? Amazing. He needs to beef up a bit for it, but I am looking forward to a very rodent winter. Thank you!
In reflection, the past three years started out as slow days that were over in a second (if that makes sense). Now, they have accelerated. I find myself trying to cling desperately to every moment of his amazing presence while simultaneously living and thinking in the future. The inexplicable magic of this little boy is a constant reminder to count blessings and live as presently as possible. Happy birthday my dear dear creature.
