St. Louis shorty

Man we have been busy these days. Just a crazy time for us since I foolishly said yes to back-to-back shows. Anyhow, I was granted one weekend free in May and we tried to make the most of it by squeezing in our annual trip to St. Louis. It was gunna be short, just 3 nights and 2.5 days, but better than nothing. To add, the floor at the board of trade had been getting a little crazy, so we had to cut our 2.5 day trip down to 1.5 days and 2 nights. STILL TOTALLY WORTH IT!! Especially since I had to miss last years awesomeness.

Turns out that May is not the best time for our trip. We thought we hit the weather jackpot for the normally sticky hot trip to the city of the arch, but not so. We stayed at our favorite hotel, at Union Station, but the great covered outdoor pool wasn't open yet, and because we only stayed Friday and Saturday night, they had weddings both nights so we couldn't hang out in the awesome bar with the projector ceiling. Additionally, the outdoor roof portion of the City Museum was closed!! Wha wha wha whaaaaaaaa. STILL TOTALLY WORTH IT!!

Sweet view of the drained pool from our room.

Brock and I have arrived. The ladies are sleeping in.

Brock can do it all now. And so can we (with knee pads that is...).

 We rode chameleons...

Napped in caves...

and got trapped in a dungeon.

I seriously regretted following Brock here.

We found the plane.

and some other great lookouts.

Then Alice finally showed up! But sleeping in was tiring. So we relaxed while Mommy and Brock went nuts.

Alice woke up and decided she wanted a giant lego fort, so we started building alone.

Her fort was a hit though, and we soon had many helpers.

exploring the inside

"Hi. This is my house."

Meanwhile, Brock has a whale of a time.

Loving this sign on this vintage pinball machine.

Alice did not go after the Pac Man banana.

This game was really cool, trying to get the ball through the hoop.

One last crazy trip through the caves!!!

A picture with everyone is very difficult. Where's that Brock?

Oh, Hi!

We were all so tired that we finished in time for an awesome dinner at our favorite spot, Bridge Tap House downtown.

The next day we started with checking out the turtle playground in Forest Park.

and then went 4 leaf clover hunting in a nearby playground.

Alice helping.

Can you believe it? Not only did we find a 4 leaf clover, but we found 2 FIVE leaf clovers!! What kind of fertilizer they were using on the field I am afraid to ask about. I hope Alice didn't lick too much of the ground.

We really packed it in this day. For late lunch we met up with Matt's buddies from college and their three boys at Fitz's rootbeer factory and restaurant. We got to check out the bottling of the root beers and Brock had his first float. After, we walked around the Delmar loop and ducked our heads into a few shops. Twaz fun, but not enough to warrant the INSANE traffic down there. All in all, a wonderful quick trip to one of our favorite places. Can't wait to go back next year... in June.
