And then we moved in...and also ate turkey

Some more recent house pictures. We have a lot of updating to do here, but hey, one day at a time. And till then, we are just a bit busy getting boxes unpacked, dust swept off, furniture shopped for (ha, not delivered till APRIL...dumb dumb COVID) and Christmas deployed. But what an amazing place and time. Speaking of which, guess who came to visit us for Thanksgiving? Our brave and fearless allies of the midwest, the GOmahas!! It really was a special trip, we had shown the house to maybe one other family and it truly is not a house until you see your loved ones in it (hint hint, come visit us when all this nonsense blows over!). So we had this feast and toasted in the new house with our dear dear dear family.

Matt and I were on our annual diet that had been delayed because of COVID carb therapy and moving around so much. So this cracker was so so sos good. For both of us.

And here we are!! The new/old house with it's very vivid exterior paint job. We still have to re-do the front steps here, but you can see it is quite the digs.

In our kitchen, our fabulous teal kitchen, playing games under the taps.

And Thanksgiving meal, the first we have ever cooked, with smoked turkey and apple pie with six of us crowded around our tiny apartment table in the middle of glorious lofted ceiling.

A work in progress of course, we have limited furniture. But here Matt and I are gloating over our win at a favorite board game Saboteur.

Brock dropping an optional rope to get to the third floor.

smoked turkey leg and Grandma is a win every time.

and here are a bunch of butts in the net that hangs over the second floor rec room.

And this is just the beginning! What a long strange trip the last 2+ years have been since we acquired our dream house in the city. Twice as long, twice as broke, grayer and fatter, over tired, would we have made the same choice? I can't hear you, I'm dancing in the living room looking up 24 feet at two beautiful little people and one beautiful big person sipping draught from my island. I sound like a jerk. But life is short and my guilty Nihilistic soul only has so much room for over-responsibility self-condemnation when we have so much to celebrate. So a toast to you all, wherever you are. We can't wait to see you and have you over.
