Some Spring Awakenings

Image
Just some happenings this spring. Brock joined a soccer league this spring with his friends Rex and Cora. See if you can find him in orange.  Alice and I are watching Brock from the sidelines and cheering him on with snacks. Some ladies about town in our sun bonnets. What says spring but a sprinkler? Courtesy of the Omaha G-rents. Brock finds a special happy rock. Sadly we did not "share our find" as I am not on twitter...maybe they'll read this blog instead. For mothers day we dressed up and went out to brunch!! Hard to see here, but I made Alice and I matching Alice in wonderland dresses. Brock really has gotten into dressing up, or as we say, a fancy night, and here he is sporting his burgundy plaid suit. Why did I buy my son a suit? Look at that guy, come on. The boys all gussy fussy at Daisies restaurant. More ham from the ladies. Clearly looking at ourselves instead of the camera. Different fancy night, but on our way to the train to head downtown to Beatnix on the

Alice is huge

Well, its been a post desert so let me update you, Alice is a big girl! Huge. So let me update you on the recent(ish) proof.  So, she successfully potty trained in Aprilish and Brock made her a confetti bucket to confirm the joy. Poop cake (chocolate, of course, and her favorite) to celebrate the first of now many #2's.  And let's talk about that pacifier. Here she is in May, a total addict. Strung out, loafing and slurping away on ol' ratty bluey. We had already made it so she could only have it in bed. But she got around that by simply going to bed for long lengths of time to get her fix. Something had to change. So, it was time. We literally pulled the plug about a month ago. We told her it was time for baby  Agatha and baby Kona to have them, and we would wrap them up to gift. Brock doesn't think this will work, the doubt clear on his face. A most wise and intuitive boy. And then she wrapped them herself. Is that torture? I'm not sure.  Brock is showing us wha

Easter 2021

Image
It is snowing right now, but I tell you, spring is here, and with it the promise of rebirth and newness in the form of candy, eggs, bunnies and ribs! The festivities begin the week before when we dye eggs. This is Alice's first real year to participate and I think she was quite delighted by it all. Brock is an old pro clearly. She got really into the stickers and I got a bug kit that she loved as well. Eggs in the makes. Behold the fruit of our efforts! Matt always has a showstopper which was the dyed Murray. And the only part of that Murray that are stickers are the eyes. All else is dye! I am clearly impressed. WHEEEEEAHHHHHH (that is a Murray sounding Eastery) And now, an Easter Bunny marble machine that Brock and I devised. Ze (The Easter bunny would like to remain gender fluid) is CLEARLY holding its basket on the left there. In action. Easter morning and the hunt is on.  Easter Bunny made 10 clues for Alice, some got lost clearly. She was very confused in the beginning but c
