Brock is 2cool2be2

Some two years ago, stuff got real! I can't believe this guy is who he is now. Nothing could have prepared me for his total magic. Sigh. Well, birthday morning was met with a now familiar emotional tempest. Behold the pain and glory of a walrus cupcake.

Introducing Brock Abdul Jabbar taking some warm-up shots as the pool fills. Much thanks cousin Nate and parent accomplices. White babies can't jump, by the way. Or really any babies. but soon, soon, the jumps will come.

Thanks to a new favorite book from the M's, and his ever loved pacifier that was dubbed "walrus" way back in 2014, we know not how or why that name came to be, I was inspired to make the party walrus themed. Mascot tower in full radiance.

Let me be more specific, theme is "Tropical Walrus Pool Party".

Almond butter, fig and goat cheese sammies. They tasted to me pretty darn close to PB&J. The vast quantity of remaining walrus islands might have proved me wrong.

Walrus's made of fig, fruit roll-ups and toothpicks. I know, I know, the toothpicks were not very baby friendly. Grrrr... baby schmaby this is my walrus party! tee hee. Maybe that's why so many were left! Nothing says happy birthday like a good palate-stap.

Walrusmellon is in season currently. No big deal.

Prosciutto palms.

Party complicated by extreme winds! Seven minutes of intense rain and a bit of hail brought all the decorations and music equipment (and party) downstairs. Wind was so strong beverages had to be held at all times. It was also pretty darn hot. All of Mother Nature's lame attempts at happy birthday relocated the party inside. Luckily swimming and frolicking still happened, but most folks were more comfortable out of the elements.

Birthday bothie (is that a selfie with two people?).

I know we were supposed to take more pictures of the party. Too much going on. Oi oi oi, I learned a lot about children's birthday parties. We did manage to get a reel that pretty much captured the essence of the day. Brock did fantastic in the chaos of kids playing with his toys, opening gifts, thanking people for them, relentless high-fiving, sugar crashing and mommy and daddy flying in and out every door with that I'll-be-right-back-...-in-20-minutes-smile. This guy is amazing and I can't wait for every next day!!
