Eagle Eyes and Horsey Poopoo

(this photo is a non-sequitur, but posts needs pics, and you just had to see Brock's breakfast-shake moustache)

Brock has incredible eyesight and notices lots of interesting stuff. On a recent walk to the park, Brock stopped and shouted, "Brock see pinwheel!" I looked around, but there wasn't any pinwheel to be seen. We'd bought him a pack of pinwheels earlier in the week and i was sure that he was just thinking about how fun they'd have been to bring on such a windy day. "I don't think there's any pinwheels out here Brock."

"THERE! Pinwheel in front of door." Brock pointed down the street, and sure enough, a full city block away and across the street, someone had a pinwheel on their front porch. It was so tiny I could barely see it. I thanked Brock for pointing it out, and we continued on our walk. It took us nearly ten minutes to reach the pinwheel

Once we got to the park, I asked Brock what he wanted to do first. "Ride on orange train!" There's no trains at our park, Brock was just remembering the fun we had at Old West Town weeks earlier. I let him know that the train was at Old West Town, and that it would likely be a very long time until we rode it again.

We've been trying to ask Brock to recount his days for us, to see how much he remembers about everything he does, so mommy asked him about his trip to the park and asked what he did. "SLIDE!" We'd done a lot of sliding. Then Brock blurted out, "orange train at Old West Town." Holly used this opportunity to dig further back into his memory.

"That's right Brock, do you remember anything else from Old West Town?" There were lots of options here: panning for gold, the gunfight, the carousel we rode five times. Brock had to think for a bit...

"Horsey Poopoo!!"

Yep. He's definitely our son.
