Three and WEEEEEE

Oh my darling little one is at the wonderful age of three now! Her birthday actually was on the worst possible day for us. It was opening night of my show, Matt stepped into coaching Brock's baseball team at the last minute and it was their first night, so Brock was there for his first baseball practice, and the Gdonuts had just arrived one day prior. And Matt and I both had to work. So It was crazy. Luckily, mom and dad were there to hang out with Alice while Matt and I were out that night. But it was a little teary as it had been a while since we had left Alice with someone else, and she only had one day to get to re-know the Gdonuts. Everything was fine, but sadly we didn't get to really DO anything for her birthday. I made a beautiful cake that was to Alice's specifications; it had to have Myrna, a balloon, a tree and butterfly on it. I thought for sure I took a picture of it, but I can't find it on my phone so wah wah wah wah. Anyhow. The dear girl, I think she still managed to have a bit of fun although all of the rest of us were very distracted.

We got her an early gift of a butterfly cage with caterpillars. She greatly enjoyed her squirmy friends until we set them free on the porch a few weeks later.

She humored me and wore the puff ball birthday dress I had been staring at dreamily for months. Needless to say, she is a vision.

Some presents coming in from somewhere.  This was prior to her actual birthday.

A wonderful puzzle maze from Seattle and the Knights. Brock also has enjoyed this!

The best part about opening presents is the opportunity to sit in the quilt basket.

Between her and Brock and their close birthdays, it was like Christmas in the window sill.

Brock made her a Myrna felt lovey!

A zoo set with exotic animals from GDonuts. This, and the Knight puzzle has been her downstairs dinner entertainment since. Thank you!!

Not pictured is her giant haul of Calico Critters palooza! Matt and I got her the house and furniture, and the G's of Omaha got her a set of toddlers, triplets, and beds for the toddlers along with a fabulous waffle making set (so perfect). Alice is in critter heaven. These are also hits with Brock (and myself!).  I think maybe we opened them the next day? Can't remember, there was a lot going on that day.

The CaliCrew got Alice the Frog and Toad collection that I have to say has been such a treat for Matt and I (and Alice) to read with her. We both will comment on the wisdom, charm, and simplicity of the stories that are the perfect length. Thank you!!

But wait there is more...a BIG more.

Calicrew solicits the services of a mutant unicorn for all kinds of splashing magic.

Can there be this much splendor in one house? Yes. yes.

Alice might be running from it. Not sure.

In the morning we went for a walk with GDounts to what we now refer to as "grassy park" (she goes here everyday with her preschool, but this pic taken before then of course).

Oh this wonderful creature. She was worth every part of the harrowing journey to manifest her being and I feel so incredibly lucky to be celebrating a third birthday with our "baby rollercoaster", as she refers to herself. Alice is pure joy and I hope we can cut out more special time just for her next year!
