Camping in WIS

Yes! There was still some summer left and I think we had ONE free weekend to fill! So that means one of our favorite activities, a camping-discing-combi to the neighboring woodlands of Wisconsin.

We stayed in a wonderful state park called Kettle Moraine Norther Unit. The sites were great with lots of trees and privacy between sites, fire pits and an excellent swimming hole. We'll be back for sure!

Brock and Matt appropriately brought their whittling.

Balls IN a stick? What what what?
Not sure what is going on here, but there is some virgin margarita mix under a paper towel and boy with a fiendish grin in no rules Wisconsin.
The size of this fork makes it look like we are making steaks for Calico Critters. But I promise they were ample.
I know this picture looks like we are all sleeping. But I am not, I promise, I am not. Despite our POSH camping bedding and inflated beds I will never sleep camping. Or ever really. Anyhow, notice how low Brock looks? It is not the angle of the shot. His air went out day one and he sojourned through flat ground slumbers for the remainder of nights. Ours also went flat later on. We have decided that we will switch to mats since the only one who cares won't be sleeping anyways.
As you can see, everything went flat. And it was all my fault! Over inflated tires.
It looks so healthy when it is not on the rim.
Ugg. Well, it's not like Alice has slept in it for a while now. We mostly used it for snack-portation. The decision was made: we would not be purchasing replacement tires and this trip would be Ol'Camo's swan song. Twas a good stoller it twas. We buried it in our basement when we got home.
Millipede on my hand makes me happy!

This course was awesome! I think it was called "Rivers"? Very highly rated.

Cue Captain and Tennille!
There very few restaurants in the area and the one that we were going to go to had some kind of a biker fest going on, so we went next door to this little dive.
It was actually quite satisfying and Matt and I were reminded that Spotted Cow, the famous beer of the Wisconsin brewery New Glarus, is rather refreshing.

ooooo but on the way back we stopped at our FAVORITE place - the Safe House in Milwaukee! It is a spy bar/restaurant that is just so fun. Par usual I wish we had more pics. This visit was particularly special because we sat in the revolving booth! It rotates 180 degrees to the restaurant (NOT the Safe House, but maybe still owned by them?) next door. It was awesome. Below, we headed to our agent debriefing (clearly stated on the wall). We finished our secret mission there (eat 20 fried cheese curds) and headed home after a great trip!
