Brock does a decade

How did I miss posting the aging of my amazing son!??! Why is it October. Anyhow, Brock humans up to 10. Here is documentation of this climactic event.

His most favorite gift looks odd because it is discs.

A pumpkin! Top of Brock's list (great wrap job Matt!)

"WHY!!???"
But glory follows.

On Brock's actual birthday, I surprise the kids with a day at the Museum of Ice Cream. It is not an archive of old ice cream. It is far tastier and has everything a social media influencer could want.

We start with a subway into icec-ream madness. But with Dove bars.

Well, well, well...
Space room!

Just the birthday boy and his beloved Sesame Brittle McDump.
And, hot dog flavored ice-cream. Only Brock was brave enough.

Surprise! I did actually try it... I concur with Brock.

Brock is the 10-Man!
You are reading that correctly. Yum. um.
Identify ice-cream by smell...
Dulce De Toilet? Not sure what Brock has discovered here.

They are not limited to ice-cream.
This is the main event.

Then we detour to the Lego store for some little bits of brick.
Brock has excellent taste and we dine his choice at one of our favorite places, Au Cheval.

Bone marrow and a virgin margarita. I mean, he may as well be turning 35.
His friend Miles made these jerseys for his 10 year old party (last year, cuz Brock is almost a year younger than all his friends) and it is perfect for the day!
More ice-cream. Jeeez.

Note Alice going bananas in the background.

A week later, Brock does friend celebration slumber party with his 3 besties beginning with jumps at Altitude.

They begin with an Egg Drop competition, inspired by the enormous fun had on the Mexico cruise.
The boys draft for materials, then build their contraption for dropping.

contraptions pre-drop...

The results are in.
It lives!

Luca's is not so lucky. A very small crack, but we had to go hard as all the other eggs were fresh from the hen perfection upon landing.
Brock wins by a few inches, determined by closest to X.
Cue triumphant music...
Then, soda creation happy hour...and food tastings with Magic Fruit. And crickets, Brock finally convinces all boys to have a nibble. I forget if this is before or after Magic Fruit...but the outcome was the same. Tasting notes of dust with satisfying crisp. As you can see, Miles is keeping a safe distance.

This cake was meant to contain all the elements of the day, egg (Egg Drop), Lemon (Magic Fruit tasting) Bed (sleep over) and frog (we went to Altitude for some jump time prior to all this).

This (his) past decade has been the most influential in my life as well. I still remember that first August 2nd day that the earth started turning in a different direction and the stars began a new chapter in their prismatic sparkle when Brock Orwell Cerney came into our lives. Love you Brock!
