Mother's slay!

Image
Slay is slang for awesome. So, mother's day was awesome! I had tech all day, as in 13 hours all day. So, I was just savoring even sleeping in till 8am. But, this is what awaited me downstairs! The Cerney Walffery!! Brock, on his own, created the concept and made the menu!! And played the part of the waiter. A very dignified waiter who knows exactly what the customer wants. Morning time! Part of the atmosphere was putting on one of my favorite records. Pavement is so relaxing. Brock filling our water glasses. This was Alice's order. It was a wonderful way to start a hard day and made me look forward to coming home even more!

Spring Break Matt 40 Boat Gmaha Magic

There was so much celebration backed into our MUCH anticipated vacation of the year - A seven day cruise with the Omaha grandparents to celebrate Matt's 40th and have the kids get a taste of cruise life.    Here is my featured photo that was from Jim and Julie's collection to decorate this post that will direct you to our photo collection and comments.... Click here to see our cruise album!  I just can't get Blogger to cooperate with more than 15 photos, so thank you for clicking above.  AND... Please visit Jim and Julie's blog post for this trip for much better pictures and a more complete account of this amazing trip.    So grateful for this adventure with the dearest of humans. The puperty horn

Image
Alice comes home with constructions that she has done in school. The other day, she brought home this only somewhat altered paper towel tube. I asked her what it was, to my surprise, she told me it was a "puberty horn". We have been talking a little bit about the subject around the house... Apparently because it makes your voice lower? I have no further comment.

Alice Art

Alice's work needs documentation. Her work is (unbiased) truly unique and is just overflowing with personality. Must be shared.   Her teacher narrates what the picture is of.  Alice also writes us short books on a general basis, here is one of her latest: Myrna is clearly on a no-carb diet, that's why she always wears a caftan. This is Myrna in the bath that I guess fell on her from the previous page.  This work Alice titled "The Rainbow Abyss". Then I had to make it into a dog. Sorry. Now the dog's soul is a rainbow abyss. This is our house. Our Family. I think the last wedding we were at was last June. We haven't had Alice's birthday yet, so I guess she is just planning. I have stepped away from helping Alice get dressed. It was hard at first, but I am so delighted by her choices, more creative than my ascetics could ever hold up to. She likes to plan out what her outfit will look like on her everyday. You can't see, but her underwear is under the s...

Turkey in Tucson

Image
Ah! Thanksgiving in March! How ideal. At least the presentation of such. This year the kids had the whole week off!! CPS finally found a way to cure the strange two-day sickness that came over 75% of all children in the district preceding Thanksgiving break. We have begun to make an annual trip to my folks out in Tucson during this time to get in a years worth of missing my side of the line! This year was  real treat, we added on the extra time in Sedona to hike and get mom and dad a small adventure outside the Tucson area. Such a delight. For my ease in managing over 20 pics, as mentioned, I've switched to sharing links to the album with some comments there. Hope you enjoy! Chick on the picture or the text that says, "Album" below to see the glory. View the "Turkey in Tucson" album here! As usual I can't believe I took no pictures of our amazing feast with special thanks to Joanne for her culinary mastery, Matt for his sou chef expertise, and my conciliato...

Nebraska New Year 2022(23!)

Image
Oh my dear friends. I have battled Blogger all week, and for these mighty and many-pictures-coming from many different photographers, it is just a beast. So I have retooled for these big posts and am switching to adding just a link to my curated album. It has pluses and minuses. Blogger must be punishing me for making dumb comments all these years, so this is my attempt to troubleshoot. Oi oi. oi. To see the magic that was our fabulous family time in Nebraska for the final days of 2022, click on the picture or the link below! Click here to see the album and the good times! Much love and onward!

The Holiday Spirit of 2022

Image
Ho Ho the holidays! It happened. It was good. Here is Alice in area that is suggesting we are about to find a Christmas tree. As many of you know, during COVID, or Instagram or something, cutting-down-your-own-tree became a THING. As is, everyone was doing it. As in, there are no more big trees if you want to cut it yourself. So, we drove out to our cutty place, expecting to walk around, look at trees, then go to the their pre-cuts so we could find one from 8-10 feet. As usual, Brock wanted 10+, but after last year, Matt and I argue 10-. BUT, at Pinecrest, where we normally go, we were told we might find an 8-footer in the less than popular Norwegian Spruce. Why is it not popular? We don' know! We actually found one that was about 8.5 and BEAUTIFUL!    So we cut. Or, Matt cuts. Brock, helps carry, I take pictures, Alice referees. The tree train toots along. But one must also decorate that tree! The "shorter" tree was much easier for this. And what are the holiday...
