A Golden State

Oh what a lovely weekend.  We "surprised" Jake and Joanne with a visit in cohoots with mom and dad's prearranged visit.  Caught in a midnight couch crash we do some catching up before bed.

Sadly we did not capture Brock's first meeting with Hamburgler, J&J's sweet, sweet corgi.  Brock went giggly squeal nuts for this fine fur ball.

Brock went for his first true walk.  He took a few more throughout the weekend, but here he is a-stroll sidewalk style for the first time.

Let the actual stroll portion of the stroll commence!!  After a block and a half.

Brock's first swing walk... cut short by a reminder from Matt of the Madeline mayhem that occurred from a similar practice.

A labored car nap on the way too our Sunday adventure...

to Harley Farms, a fabulous goat farm that was far from MEEEEHHHHHH!

Brock is drawn to goats when he sees pictures of them in farm books.  Not sure if he made a connection to the 2D goats, but he seemed to have a fine time taking in the sights and smells.

He took almost as joy from dragging his arm along the fence.

Audience poll: are GIF's tacky?  It seemed the best way to capture the many complicated emotions associated with milking apparatus.

Harley Farms puts on Farm dinners that have very long waiting lists.  After sampling the cheese and visiting the awesome dining room, we can certainly understand.

View from the dining room balcony overlooking the farm and garden.

We are so excited for our upcoming February meeting with Brewmaster Piggywiggins (in-utero name, sorry to disappoint); Joanne is a stunning oven.

The cheese shop is open for biz!  YAY!  Thankfully cheese is totally allowed on our carb-less diet (that we totally stuck to even in delicious California, even when challenged with the famed artichoke garlic bread from one of the Pescadero storefronts), oh man I can't wait till Friday (end of diet).

The town of Pescadero was adorbs.  I took home a few souvenirs from the visit.  Below is Bunnyfish that Brock took a liking to.  Joanne and I filed it away under we-could-make-that-maybe-we-will-Christmas-is-coming-we-probably-won't-make-it-but-maybe-we-will-we-totally-could-for-sure-make-that-bunnyfish-if-we-wanted-to.

What does a bunnyfish say?

Brock discovered a magic wand on his evening walk.

Thank you J&J and Hamburgler for a wonderful time that is always too short.  Thank you Mom and Dad for helping our incog-neato-ness!  Love you all.
