Anniversary #4
Has it really been four years already? Don't worry, I haven't aged so terribly, that's just a friendly zombie that asked Holly for a dance. We stuck to our fall tradition this year and headed east to the shores of Michigan for another amazing weekend.
We started our trip by climbing a giant sand dune. The lake is to our backs and this hill is enormous. Brock did a great job of hiking as long as we stopped to rest and draw a few Murrays in the sand occasionally.
and inspect some logs
We reached the top!
We did make it down to the beach as well, and Brock was super happy and excited...until a wave of frigid water splashed his legs. Then it was tears and requests to leave all before the camera could come out.
The next day we went in search of apples. This place is significantly more low key than our earlier trip. It's just apples and peacefulness here, but they are fantastic.
Here's Brock yelling, "smile!" as he chews an apple. He always yells "smile" when the camera is close. Doesn't really make for the best smiles.
Here's our little apple-picker at work.
We had some sticky apple fingers touch the lens on this one, our version of a professional filter. This is what carrying apples looks like in heaven.
OK, I realize this is a lot of short apple vids in a row, but how was I supposed to pick which is cutest?
A helpful worker took 4 pics of all of us. This was the least fuzzy.
Driving the apple train.
Gettin' tall this fall.
We've stayed at the same B&B for 3 years in a row now, but this is the first year we realized they had a beautiful forest trail near a river. We set out for a stroll and were soon joined by Fluffy, one of the cats that lives on the property. Fluffy took a liking to Brock and followed us the rest of the day.
Walkin'
"Wait for me, Fluffy!"
Fun with balancing.
After our walk, we hit the playground and found acorn hats for everyone.
On our last day we made it to Dinges' pumpkin patch. We picked out our favorite squashes, conquered a corn maze, and met some lovely animals. Somehow, we only got this shot and mommy dancing with a zombie.
The goat had a kiss for mommy too. What a weekend!
