We love our back yard

We love our back yard. As stated above. The small serving of nature we get from it is exponential for our sense of being. We moved the play structure away into the shade and found cocoons under it. Being curious, and feeling like we had to make amends for removing their protection (and ok, I suppose self serving, for the sake of science!!) we decided to put them in a jar.

We are really busy these days, and sort of forgot about them. With all clutter, the jar was hiding in plain sight. We finally checked in on them and by golly there was a moth. But what? Two!!

and of course it was exciting to free them. The first one was  like, "see ya later suckers" and bailed. The second was quite tentative, spoiled by our lazy bones rotten banana feast at its feet. But it came around eventually.

and we have a wee delightfully hued pepper!

And oh yeah, Alice can stand on her own!! and she loves crawling up the slide. Such a wonderful little sanctuary from the city, protected by our dear friend the ash tree, which I suppose we need to come up with a name for. Perhaps Emily II?
