We WIS you were here (more camping)

We went again camping. This time to Wisconsin! One of many trips this summer to the cheese state.

Our foraging interest brought us to learning the BIG differences between poisonous hemlock and wild carrot. DO NOT EAT FUZZ. Or do. Darnit, I can't remember (theatrical death cry).
Alice sleeps in at the campsite... directly next to, and not on, her inflatable camping pad. She has a tendency to role.

Brock is sleeping in too.

Or is he??!?!?!
We also went disc golfing.
and ate at this CUTE place around the bend from our site.
No, no, we did not take a detour to the super creepy haunted forest.

no, no, I was wrong, we are in the super creepy haunted forest.
WARNING! Scandalous gypsy moths!
Our hike had these awesome rock features that the kids had a blast on. And Matt had a good stretch on.

We detoured to Old World Wisconsin where the kids got a small taste of Midwest history.

Ha ha ha. Brock is riding a "girl's" bike. For reals, they made bikes where dresses would be appropriate after much blow back from women donning bloomers for a traditional mounted bike.
I model the bloomers. And the post-modern footwear.

And a few games of stick and ball.
I'm. Going. To. Hell. and also jail.
Brock tries his vial concoction of strawberry mint vanilla. It had potential, but it will be easy for him to be temperate with.

The town blacksmith showed off how to make a pretty snazzy hook, and Brock got to take home the one that is glowing in this picture.
The hats in old time Wisconsin were too big.
Brock wasn't too excited by the schoolhouse.

Not sure here either.
But they both LOVED this pig!
In fact, we went and toured neighboring buildings, and Alice just happy stared at the pig.
For those that haven't played disc golf, a frequent sighting on park benches is a circle drawn with sharpie that has "Disc Charger" written on it. If you set your disc in the circle before throwing, it charges it up for longer throws. This was the first course we've played with a butt charger, and Alice was excited to get fully charged.
Our last stop: the Mars' Cheese Castle. Brock had a craving for soup and said, "i just hope it's not butternut squash soup." Well, other than that it was a great trip.
