We love our back yard

Image
We love our back yard. As stated above. The small serving of nature we get from it is exponential for our sense of being. We moved the play structure away into the shade and found cocoons under it. Being curious, and feeling like we had to make amends for removing their protection (and ok, I suppose self serving, for the sake of science!!) we decided to put them in a jar.   We are really busy these days, and sort of forgot about them. With all clutter, the jar was hiding in plain sight. We finally checked in on them and by golly there was a moth. But what? Two!!  and of course it was exciting to free them. The first one was  like, "see ya later suckers" and bailed. The second was quite tentative, spoiled by our lazy bones rotten banana feast at its feet. But it came around eventually.  and we have a wee delightfully hued pepper!  And oh yeah, Alice can stand on her own!! and she loves crawling up the slide. Such a wonderful littl...

Brock's last last day of kindergarten

Image
Tears, gush, Brock can read! He can write! He has made friends! He will exit kindergarten as the victor! Here are a couple of memories...  The subsequent ice cream party.  and I made Alice's outfit!! Sorry about that guy's butt.  We went out for additional ice cream with the crew. Here we have Josie, Owen, and Felix in a fond farwell hug.  We really have had a great year and adore his friends parents. Looking forward to the next chapter! I'm gunna add this from Google 5 year ago snap shot because it blew my mind, especially looking at little Alice... Wow, these years have truly flown.

St. Louis shorty

Man we have been busy these days. Just a crazy time for us since I foolishly said yes to back-to-back shows. Anyhow, I was granted one weekend free in May and we tried to make the most of it by squeezing in our annual trip to St. Louis. It was gunna be short, just 3 nights and 2.5 days, but better than nothing. To add, the floor at the board of trade had been getting a little crazy, so we had to cut our 2.5 day trip down to 1.5 days and 2 nights. STILL TOTALLY WORTH IT!! Especially since I had to miss last years awesomeness. Turns out that May is not the best time for our trip. We thought we hit the weather jackpot for the normally sticky hot trip to the city of the arch, but not so. We stayed at our favorite hotel, at Union Station, but the great covered outdoor pool wasn't open yet, and because we only stayed Friday and Saturday night, they had weddings both nights so we couldn't hang out in the awesome bar with the projector ceiling. Additionally, the outdoor roof port...
