Holiday Outing Montage pt. 1

Image
We have been out and about getting Brock in the mood for the big day. Here are some clips of our recent adventures.  We decided to do a day in Matt's old neighborhood of Bridgeport. The day's events centered around a holiday craft fair where three of our friends were vendors this year. I have recording of the craft fair, but since the geese were in route, this seemed like the right place for it.  I'll just add that after the craft fair we went out to eat at one of our old haunts, Ed's Potskickers. It was the worst restaurant experience we have had with Brock ever. Screaming man, lost waiters, the sauce drought of 2015, and a completely silenced full dinning room as Brock fell over backwards in his chair. Yay Bridgeport day!  Brock's first holiday cookie decorating is a huge success. He did greatly enjoy a good sprinkling, but nothing compares to the spoils of raw cookie dough.  Here we are waiting for the CTA holiday train on the

Bonus Cheesy Video

Found this video of Brock on the Chuck-E-Cheese carousel after reading Holly's post. I assure you, he is having the time of his life. He seems to have already mastered his pokerface.

Chucky Cheese

We went to Chucky Cheese's for a birthday party for Brock's friend Brady.  Brock, in typical Brock style, just wanted to stand on the merry-go-round again and again. Not sit on the horse, but just hold on and stare into the vast chaotic wasteland that is Chucky Cheese's. Around and around and around and around and around and around.... ....and around and around and around and around... and add money, add money add money and around and around and around and around.... Balls are a fine rest from going around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around.... Brock managed to gather a fair amount of tickets despite his merry-go-round obsession (mostly because he was free-loading off of other riders). Oh he wanted that giant lollipop, you bet he did. He was only 950 tickets from it. So it was decided that 5 tootsie rolls was a much better deal than two stickers. Indeed!

Thanksgiving visit

Oh what sweet silliness ensued with a much anticipated visit from brother Jake, Joanne and baby Nate for Thanksgiving week. I was so excited to meet my nephew for the first time! Mom and Dad were also a part of the joy. The cousins meet with one way smiles (thank you Nate!) and one way paranoia (thank you Brock).  It is 60 degrees today in Chicago. When the fam came in, it was 20 degrees and we were hit with our first snow of the year; a heavy fall! Ha ha ha! We were happy to give the Californians a good show. The snow was just in time for our drive to Indiana to visit with my mom's family. We stayed overnight in a lovely Holiday Inn and a had a mini-vacation.   Nate and Jake getting comfy in the room.  Nate is known for his amazing ability to upturn his mouth in a manner that stimulates dopamine and fires off neurological transmitters to evoke a sense of snooogga-dooga-cutey-pooty.  See what I mean? Mom and dad did a great job of pick
