Brock's first Play

Today we took Brock to his first real play. Emerald City Theatre, a local troop was putting on "Dragons Love Tacos" a favorite book of his. He was very excited to see the dragons. Clapping is a real joy for the little guy these days, so any event that warrants applause already has something going for it.

Our seats where pretty meh, but it is not a huge theatre, so he still got a piece of it.

Brock was way more interested in this light than the show. He kept saying that it was dim and what was going to happen with that light. Hilarious that this light was more engaging than the stage lights.

Maybe a little board. Brock did say that it was a "lounge chair".

You can kind of see the dragons here. Basically dancers in leotards with tails. We were not blown away by the production, if you've read the book you might wonder how it would be adapted for the stage. Indeed, that seemed an issue. Brock did quite well however. He was most taken with the giant taco that came on stage and the fire on the house at the end when the dragons torch it. Half way through he did say that he was ready to go back to the car, but he got over it. See all those awesome seats in the front rows with no one in them? I know, I couldn't stop staring at them either. Oh well. Brock said he liked it, so mission accomplished. I did not talk to him about my theatre biz, it just seemed way to complicated. Next time.
