Holiday Outing Montage pt. 1

We have been out and about getting Brock in the mood for the big day. Here are some clips of our recent adventures.

We decided to do a day in Matt's old neighborhood of Bridgeport. The day's events centered around a holiday craft fair where three of our friends were vendors this year. I have recording of the craft fair, but since the geese were in route, this seemed like the right place for it.

I'll just add that after the craft fair we went out to eat at one of our old haunts, Ed's Potskickers. It was the worst restaurant experience we have had with Brock ever. Screaming man, lost waiters, the sauce drought of 2015, and a completely silenced full dinning room as Brock fell over backwards in his chair. Yay Bridgeport day!

Brock's first holiday cookie decorating is a huge success. He did greatly enjoy a good sprinkling, but nothing compares to the spoils of raw cookie dough.

Here we are waiting for the CTA holiday train on the platform. Basically a decked out CTA train that has removed a few middle cars to make way for Santa and his sleigh.

Brock, how do you feel about the holiday train?

After several minutes, here it comes!

The train was so packed we decided it was dumb to get on. You can't ride with Santa, so basically just mashed in a regular car. Here is Brock waving goodbye to Santa.

Darn that soldier head! You can't see Santa! You all probably think he isn't real or something.

Next on our holiday agenda, we hit the Aquarium for breakfast with Santa. It was quite fun and we saw some fun fish, the Polar Express in 4d and had actually a quite tasty serving of eggs and bacon.

A secret glacier under the Shedd.

OMG, this show was so dumb!! Except this seal, who was adorable. The animals were adorable. Too bad we only saw them for 5 minutes in a 30 minute production. The rest of he show was padded with videos about how awesome the Shedd is and how we should get along with each other. Fine, those are lovely, but come on! Let's see some dolphins!! I know, a bit of a Grinchy comment, but it was deserved.

We did get a second and a third chance to meet Santa. We came through with a low five on try #3.

I had a gingerbread party with the girls. No relation to Brock except the daily torture of not eating the giant cookie mushroom.

I inherited Jake and I's old advent calendar from when we were kids. It is an utter delight for Brock and his reason for waking. He is super excited for Christmas, but will be very sad for the end of the days (speaking advent-calendarly of course).
