Hallow's Eve with the Murrays
Runnnn!!! The Murrays are coming! The Murrays are coming!!
We asked Brock what he wanted to be and not surprisingly, he said "Murray".
Ok. Matt was pumped to bring daddy Murray to fabulous life.
Here he is on his first test run.
As mentioned, we partook of the city's free events, our first destination last last weekend was to the Halloween Gathering down by the Bean. Free candy and activities were promised.
Just a regular day for Daddy Murray.
Soooo, maybe it was because it was the weekend before Halloween and folks just weren't expecting it, but I now know what it feels like to be famous (or more like a groupie since Daddy Murray was clearly the main event) because we got absolutely stared down everywhere we went; most pronounced promenading to the exit of the train platform (the picture above was NOT the platform I mean, no photos of the gaping crowd). Daddy Murray proceeded to scare and surprise all in his path. Daddy Murray was also quite the main event as we entered onto State Street to find ourselves in the center of a Black Lives matter march. Not sure what kind of statement we made.
No Halloween is complete without a hyper-fem-gendered rendition (there is a more tacky way to say that that rhymes with "nutty" but I'm not going to say it) of a thing, so I compiled the makings for a slightly more demure hyper-fem-gendered Mamma Murray.
Can you find Daddy and Brock Murray? Candy line. Worth it. Worth it. Brock discovered his new favorite candy, Skittles!
Brock got to make a bird mask as one of the activities in the tent and took to the sky.
Here he is eating some seeds or taking a bird bath, I don't remember exactly.
And a good time was had by all.
Oh yeah, and we made some pumpkins!
Here we have a snail and a true Jack-O-Lantern; Brock has been taken with quite an adore for the traditional iconic gourd this Halloween pre-season.
K. This picture is from when I picked him up from his field trip to the pumpkin patch with his class. He asked me specifically to take a picture of him on the chain. Just a random semi-halloween related shot.
Ok, so finally, the big day. Halloween! And, you guessed it! Another free Chicago event, trick-or-treating up Southport Street.
Brock's highlight (ok, besides the Skittles), a giant Connect Four!
The Murrays!
Brock defends Daddy Murray from his zombie-possessed mamma Murray.
and our favorite ice cream place, Jeni's, was giving away free mini-cones for trick or treating. Holy-moly what a score.
The Murray skin is shed and noodles are had.
Happy Halloween from the Murrays.
