Summer School Pics

Whoa. Time for the end of Brock's first year at School!

As a continuation of our summer field trips, we embarked on a trip to the Nature Museum. We've been members since before Brock could walk, but it is always a treat to come with school friends... and G&G Donut!!

Playing illegally in the playground (apparently this area was not open to us...)

I think G.Ma. Donut has some more pics of this, it might need an update...

One of Brock's classmates and friends, Oliver, has a very talented mom who generously plays for the kids once a month, Miss Bethany.

 Solar System hats...

As you can see, planets were the learning focus for these couple of weeks; one of Brock's favorite subjects.

Next field trip... the Botanical Garden! The one that I was quite looking forward to.

Giant bullfrog in the fronds, see if you can find him...

oooo. Here is Brock and AAAAlex... I think Brock has a bit of preschool crush on her. He is often talks about her and seems tortured by her fickle attentions. He will also point out characters that "look like Alex" in some of our books. Here is him and her on a good day. We actually got to sit by her and her dad at lunch that day, a real treat. Alex's dad is very cool and it was fun for me to meet him too. Matt spoke to Alex's mom last week, they seem a family that we jive with. But if she breaks Brock heart, forget about it.

 Atlas moth!! My favorite! Huge.

 Here's that superstar.

They have an absolutely awesome train exhibit where the train wanders among city and U.S. landmarks that are made of natural materials.

Speaking of jiving with parents, I'm making friends too! This is Brock's friend Cathan's mom, Tracy. Great to talk to on the bus and about the park. Their family is very dedicated to staying in the city, which we are finding are some of the personality types we gravitate to.

This is Cormac, one of Brock's favorite friends.

Well, mamma had a conference on the Aquarium field trip. It was actually a great opportunity for Brock to really hang with his pals solo. Mom sucks up too much of his attention. Here is his core group (I think their Mom's were up to something else that day too, so perfect) looking so rad.

Cormac, Patrick and, wait for it... Alex!! Score.

Brock loves to go to his park after Matt or I pick him up. I think maybe because the rest of his class that doesn't have 3:30 pick up come here. He likes to meet them here then laugh at them when we get to stay longer.

Brock and Enzo. He has been talking a bit more about Enzo these days.

Glad I am seeing some "cutting" here... Brock told me that he is board of coloring works and wants more cutting ones.
