ooooo, and I Wis you were here (camping with us)

Ah! the great outdoors! We do love a getaway to tents and trees and fires and fun. We made way for a trip to Wisconsin to one of our favorite state parks, Kettle Moraine Northern Unit.

There are so many options for a caption here that I am blanking. Although it pretty much speaks for itself. Notice that the "open" sign is not lit. Maybe take out?

We start the day out with one of the hiking trails, and find many stashes of delicious black raspberries.

Gunna make something with these! Likely poop.

A slug! This humble creature is now immortal on our famous blog.

I don't know what is happening  here. I'll leave a blank space for you to write your own caption. Then Matt _______________________________________________________.

Cookie stop.

Whoa! A rare pizza mushroom! Def not poison.

Then we discovered wild carrots. This started a new thing for our family, foraging!

Croc Rock.

Seriously, we really did get into foraging. We stopped at the visitors center and got a book on local treats. Here is Matt cooking up our found carrots.

After reading our new book, we learned that we really couldn't have picked a worse time to pick them. They smelled wonderful and added great flavor, but were very woody and you had to cook them down with A LOT of butter to make them chewable. Duh. Butter.

Little frogs were everywhere to make hand friends with.

Yaasss. Brock has truly become a master roaster like his pa. I do the eating.

And Matt and I get some solo fire to close the eve.

Next day, s'mores for breakfast of course.

And a tip of the hat to you my dear readers! It's time for some disc golf!

This course was super fun. A private one that was full of silliness and spirit with pretty short holes good for Brock and I. We were absolutely crushing (maybe too strong a word, hm, "slightly smooshing", that might be more accurate) Matt on the front 9!

The owner of the property was lovely and had some fun furries to snug us up.

Fork tree.

Free rides on the land boat.  Is that Charon leading me to my over par demise?

This way! But only if you're Alice. Ha ha!

Yes she is.

Yes, this trip rocked. Crossing my fingers for one more baseball free weekend once school starts to squeeze in another trip!
